ONI’s senior team were looking for a solution that could free up time and reduce pressure on several key stakeholders in the business.
ONI is a biotechnology company with offices in the UK and USA. It develops leading biotech that is redefining the boundaries of scientific discovery with super-resolution microscopy. The Nanoimager, ONI’s flagship product, is the world’s first desktop super-resolution microscope, capable of visualizing, tracking and imaging individual molecules in living cells with 20nm resolution.
ONI and FYXER started working together in February 2021. ONI’s senior team were looking for a solution that could free up time and reduce pressure on several key stakeholders in the business. The company had found recruiting full time EAs to be a mixed experience due to the fast pace it moves at and operating across multiple time zones. FYXER’s international footprint and experience with growth businesses were two key factors in ONI’s decision to partner with us.
Beyond our scope of work for ongoing support, we have been proactive in identifying business areas and projects where we can add further value. To pick out a few examples, we have acted as a safety net for external meetings, ensuring that NDAs are prepared in advance and minutes are taken. We have owned the organisation of board meetings, freeing the senior team to focus on key tasks and goals, instead of administration.
To match with the fast pace of ONI’s work we built a team that was agile enough to cope with changing support requirements and able to work across multiple time zones, often outside of regular office hours.
Initially we built a team of Fxyers to support the Founder, owning a range of executive assistant tasks and workstreams. Our partnership grew into working with a number of VPs across the US and UK, owning office management, supporting HR through a transformation project and assisting the finance department.
One unusual requirement was for us to work onsite at ONI’s San Diego office to lead site and office management. Alongside our remote team, we were able to place a local Fyxer with the client who works in-person on a weekly basis.
